What I am sharing with you today is the "A Dream of Italy" is exhibiting at the Musée Marmottan Monet in Paris. Although the exhibition is named "Italy", it features the main character of the French painter Paul Cezanne (1839-1906), detailing how he played an important role in the modern art world. Although Cézanne was influenced by French Impressionism, the artistic style he pursued and imitated should be restored to the period of classicism. He admired the works of the well-known painter Tintoretto El Greco of the late Italian Renaissance, which also influenced him. The tranquility and elegance in the paintings of the 17th-century classicist Nicolas Poussin were his heart. Cézanne's well-known landscape paintings, such as "Mont Saint Victor" and "Pastoral", realized that he was influenced by the aforementioned artists. The paintings are staggered and peaceful, and there is no lack of dramatic tension due to the contrast of colors. This is Cézanne's "heritance". As for the "aftermath", in addition to his influence on later generations, such as Cubism, there is also a painter who must mention, that is, Giorgio Morandi (1890-1964). An artist who only loved painting bottles in his life, the only time he traveled was to visit the exhibition of Cezanne in Zurich. Cezanne's focus on the object's geometry and the emphasis on the phase effect of the picture have all affected Morandi.
