Rodney McMillian- Recirculating Goods
Recirculating Goods is a solo exhibition of recent paintings by Los Angeles-based artist Rodney McMillian. The exhibition showcases the artist's paintings which further promote a constant dialogue about class and ideals, which provide information for American landscape painting. These works are mainly made on blankets and sometimes clearly show the scenery. These items point to the shared space in some way because the Afghan or crocheted items are handmade and can be found in the study, kitchen, or bedroom. They are usually personal items, passed down from generation to generation or given as gifts. However, in this case, some objects were purchased from non-profit retail stores. These paintings reflect the different exchange systems that exist between them and their relationship with the induced history (personal, ethnic, and artistic history).
